Semen analysis

We believe that every patient is unique therefore we cannot provide any general answer that would fit everybody. You should arrange your first visit after your free online consultation so the appointment will meet all your needs. Our team will happily assist you in choosing the most convenient date in compliance with your doctor’s recommendations.

In order to make the most out of your first visit, you can bring the following documents concerning your past medical history including:

  • hospital discharge forms
  • medical certificates
  • recent laboratory tests results
  • recent diagnostic scans results
  • past disease/illness/surgery history
  • documentation confirming previous attempts at assisted reproduction treatment (i.e. insemination, in vitro) if available

During your first visit, your doctor will thoroughly take your present medical history, review your past medical history and the documentation that you provided. The physician will perform a gynecological examination completed with transvaginal ultrasound scan of the pelvic region in female patient. Male patient may be asked to deliver sperm for semen analysis. If needed, the doctor will also refer you for additional tests such as hormone blood tests.

We are happy to inform you that there is no waiting list for starting a treatment at Klinika Bocian.

Male infertility is diagnosed primarily by semen analysis. It is performed usually just after the first visit in our clinic with use of computer programs. Preparation for this test includes sexual abstinence for 3-5 days prior to your appointment, and refraining from alcohol, smoking and excessive physical activity.

Ovary stimulation and its monitoring are one of the steps in many assisted reproduction techniques (especially in vitro fertilization). It involves the use of medications that stimulate (enhance) development of multiple mature follicles and eggs in order to increase pregnancy rates as the goal is to harvest as many eggs as possible from the woman's ovaries. It is monitored mainly by ultrasound scans and/or hormone blood tests.
